Terms of Service | Smart Commit

1. Acceptance

By using Smart Commit (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Smart Commit provides an IDE plugin and optional cloud service for generating AI-powered Git commit messages. The plugin is free; Cloud AI features require an account and may require a paid subscription.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Each account may connect up to 3 IDE devices.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Paid subscriptions (Starter at $1/month, Pro at $5/month) are billed monthly via LemonSqueezy. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. A 7-day grace period is provided for payment issues.

5. Fair Use

Each plan includes a monthly Cloud AI generation limit (Free: 30, Starter: 300, Pro: 3,000). Automated or abusive usage may result in rate limiting or account suspension.

6. Intellectual Property

Generated commit messages are provided as suggestions. You retain all rights to your code and commit history. We claim no ownership over generated messages.

7. Limitation of Liability

Smart Commit is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to incorrect commit messages or service interruptions.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
